Indian Challenger Latest Updates

The Indian Challenger is the newest heavyweight cruiser from Indian Motorcycle and is expected to be introduced in India as a completely built unit (CBU). The Indian Challenger is based on Indian Motorcycle’s newest PowerPlus engine, a liquid-cooled, 1,769 cc, 60-degree v-twin which puts out 121 bhp of maximum power at 5,500 rpm and 173.5 Nm of peak torque at 3,800 rpm. In the US, the Challenger is available in a choice of three variants – Standard, Dark Horse and Limited. The Dark Horse and Limited Variants, apart from being visually and cosmetically different, will also come with a Bosch six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) which powers the cornering traction control system and ABS.

The Indian Challenger will get a 43 mm inverted fork and a hydraulically adjustable monoshock. Twin 320 mm front discs with radially mounted Brembo four-piston calipers on the front wheel and a 298 mm disc with a two-piston caliper on the rear wheel will provide stopping power, along with standard dual-channel ABS across all variants. The basic three riding modes of Standard, Rain and Sport will be offered in the base variant as well. The Challenger runs on a 19-inch alloy wheel on the front and a 16-inch wheel at the rear.

The Indian Challenger is a proper bagger with standard hard saddlebags offering 68 litres of storage, adjustable air vents on the fairing and a power-adjustable windshield.
