- The Honda CB Unicorn 160 was launched in India at Rs. 69.350 on December 2014.
- In January 2015, the Honda motorcycles conducted an awareness programme/drive on road safety all over India. The drive was conducted on the Week of National Road Safety. Various initiatives were made during the week which advocated safety amongst people. The drive was made at different locations in the country.
- In July 2015, the Honda CB Unicorn 160 crossed the sales mark of one Lakh in just eight months after its launch in India. This milestone gave Honda the hope of regaining its glory in the sale of the premium commuter bike segment.
- In January 2016, the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India or HMSI conducted in Delhi, a grand two-wheeler carnival named the Maha Exchange Mela. The carnival was a mega-event that gave a platform to all its customers to upgrade their old bikes and scooters by exchanging them. People could get in exchange the all-new Honda CB Unicorn 160.
- The tried and tested 150 cc Honda Unicorn model was four times more popular and successful than the more efficient and newer Unicorn 160 cc. The 160 cc bike had replaced the older version of the Unicorn series, the 150 cc bike. But soon Honda has to bring the Unicorn 150 back in the market because of the low sales of the Unicorn 160 in April 2016. The step came after the Honda motorcycle company started losing its share in the segment.
- The Honda CB Unicorn 160 saw an average sale of 13,000 units in 2015. But in the first few months of 2016, the sale figures witnessed a drastic fall. The company faced low sales till April 2016.
- In two years since its launch, the Unicorn 160 cc segment commuter bike saw drastic sales reduction. In November 2016, the company sold 751 units only.
- In December 2016, the Honda motorcycles company introduced the BS-IV emission norm compliant and new paint schemes bike. It was launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs. 73,481 in New Delhi. The price of the new updated version of the Unicorn 160 cc bike increased by Rs. 1,700.
- In April 2017, the Honda CB Unicorn 160 received a standard additional feature- the Automatic Headlight On or AHO.
- The Honda motorcycles decided to discontinue a few bikes in the year 2020. The Honda CB Unicorn 160 was likely to be one of them.
