Seeing the review of the car and brand image of Honda, I bought new Honda Amaze 2018 on 20th June and since then it has been very painful and frustrating experience. I immediately noticed following major issues while driving the new Amaze for 1 week. The car has pick up and acceleration issue and loses all power when I take my car to main road from subways and also when I try to accelerate on overtakes at 2 or 3 gear. It loses its power to an extent that sometimes it stops. The car vibrates a lot while reversing. There is noise coming probably from front shockers when car goes into a little deep jerking or on speed breakers. Also the Honda signature lights can't use as DRL. Only I can use it as parking light only. What the point of calling it as signature light. Each moment of driving the new Amaze is now filled with disappointment and frustration, and I have started regretting my decision to buy Amaze

We bought a new Honda amaze VX petrol (engine no. L12B44010400) on 10th July 2018 from pink city motors Jaipur, Rajasthan, during the 1st week only realize that car having a big manufacturing defact which causeing heavy vibration during back gear and even some time during car pickup. When complained to service center (pink city motors pvt.ltd) they suggested, it will be checked rectify during 1st service, we sent car for service (meter reading was just 200 km run only), they kept it for 3 days, and the out come was nothing, as per them they tested and did some gear box rectification but outcome was nothing. At the last they said this much vibration comes in all new amaze car. I am very disappointed with such kind of crap peace of car, not expected from HONDA brand. I want it to be raised this issue on high level and want solution. So requesting to please look into this issue very seriously

Honda Amaze Expert Review

How is the design of Honda Amaze?

The Honda Amaze has been redesigned from the scratch and that makes the car appear entirely new. Honda has adopted a design known as the boxy design philosophy. It is a departure from the fluidic approach. It has given the car its muscular look and an appearance of a sedan that is conventional. The car has taken some inputs from Honda City. The length of the car has been slightly increased. The new design makes it look longer than the previous model. There is an increase in the width of the car also. It has increased the inside space of the car but there is a slight reduction in the height. There is broad chrome set in the front that bears the logo on the grille of hexagonal shape. There is a slat that merges with the top of the headlamps. There is a LED daytime running light at the bottom. The side profile of the car looks quite neat due to a single line. The alloy wheels look smaller than they are due to the changes in the overall design of the car. There is a shark-fin antenna on the roof giving it a sporty appearance. The rear looks classy due to a C-shaped tail lamp.

How does the Honda Amaze drive?

The transmission is smooth and it functions seamlessly. There is some reduced power and torque at the wheels that take away the feel of a powerful drive and the lag will be palpable. To attain the 3-digit speed, you’ve to wait for a considerable period at the D-drive. It is not desirable in the traffic conditions. The traffic is all the time stop and go. There is an S mode of drive-in Honda for this reason that shifts the gearbox in the mid-range that keeps the engine revving for better performance. You can easily run at higher rpm in this scenario. It will deliver better torque. There is an L-mode for the steep inclines in this the gear ratio is thrown down even further. It’s like shifting down in a manual gearbox. It is done according to the requirement of the load. It’s easy to drive on the highways because even as engine speed is kept low, there is no dearth in performance in terms of speed on the highways. The stability of the car in the straight line is quite decent but a roll can be felt while negotiating the corners. It happens because the suspension set is that of plush type. The pitch remains in control even when you are pushing the brake hard. It is due to the anti-lock braking system and EBD.

How comfortable is Honda Amaze?

The car has a decent braking system that sends a decent feeling of security towards you. You are in full control of the car and that, in a way, a great comforting feeling. Honda has taken the pains to see that the passengers feel that extra comfort and it is especially so in an automatic version of transmission in both petrol and diesel cars. CVT will be something new for India for this car. It’s good for the car because its competitors like Dzire and Tigor use the same. The diesel automatic delivers a power of 79 bhp and torque also is relatively down. It helps the car to get to the speed much quicker and there is no buffer to encounter. The CVT keeps sending the power and that makes it comfortable on the highways as well as in tough traffic conditions. There is a 5-speed manual transmission option but the clutch is a hindrance here which is a bit on the heavier side. So, the CVT is a better option here.

How’s the interior

To know about the interior, you should see the car and it’s interior. The interior has been designed ergonomically. It’s a driver’s car, to begin with, the ergonomic is so well-maintained. There is a piano-black treatment on the dashboard and that looks great. The plastic work doesn’t look shoddy or uncouth. It’s much better up to your likings. The Apple car play is a must today and you will have it inside the car. There is automatic climate control and also navigation on the top model. There is a dual treatment of beige and black that makes the cabin look spacious. It has been a challenge to keep the space bigger and more comfortable. The wheelbase has been increased and that makes the rear space much bigger. There is some problem for the tall fellows as the roof has been designed in a slanting fashion. The headroom is constricted a bit but otherwise, things are good. There is a charging space and a central armrest. There is a whole range of storage space both at the front and the rear.

How’s the tech?

There is a high mount stop lamp and there are front dual srs airbags. ISOFIX child seat anchorage system is present in the car. There is one solid wing face chrome grille. There are body-coloured front and rear bumpers. There is one side step garnish. On the driver’s side, there is a driver side window one touchdown. There is interior light. There is a trunk light for cargo area illumination. There are passenger airbags also apart from the driver airbag. For the brakes, there is ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and there is an engine immobilizer too. There is central locking for extra safety. There is one child safety lock. There is one headlamp beam adjuster and a tachometer in place. There is this ISOFIX child seat anchorage. There is a body-coloured front and rear bumper. There is a solid wing face chrome grille. There is a power door lock. There are one turn indicators on ORVM.

How’s the Storage?

There is enough storage space both in the front and at the rear end. The boot space also is large enough, i.e. 420 litres.

How’s the mileage of the Honda Amaze?

The car’s diesel base model has a mileage of 21 kmpl and the petrol one is 18 kmpl.

How is the performance of Honda Amaze?

The Amaze diesel automatic is not as powerful as the manual transmission type but the engine remains the same, a 1.5-litre. There is 79 bhp and the torque is 160 Nm. The CVT gets the power quicker than before. You get the power at around 1800 rpm. The car is very good on the highways and also in the traffic congestions. There is also a provision for a 5-speed manual transmission but you will find the clutch on the heavier side. Honda has worked on NVH levels of the car. The diesel version is a bit noisy and the noise is unbearable beyond 3000 rpm in the sense the noise reaches you inside the cabin. The petrol version gives you 89 bhp and there is 110 Nm torque. The clutch in this case is on the lighter side. There is electric power-assisted steering that adjusts to the conditions and speed automatically. The wheels feel easy and light.

How safe is Honda Amaze?

Amaze comes with dual airbags and an ABS. They are standards. There are rear parking sensors and a camera.

Is the Honda Amaze good value for money?

Yes, it is a good value car keeping in mind all that it has in its inside and outside including its fuel economy.

Honda Amaze News

All You Need to Know About the Amaze

When Honda launched Amaze in 2013 with a lot of fanfare, the company was targeting a segment that was in flux. Honda was facing the big players then in the market and it broke a tradition by introducing the diesel version of the car. The car was given a facelift before it was presented in an auto expo back then.

Honda Cars India recently unveiled the new-generation Amaze at the Auto Expo 2018. Talking a whole new shape with new and bold styling, the new Honda Amaze subcompact sedan will go on sale in India in the upcoming 2018-19 fiscal year. First launched in 2013, the current generation of the Honda Amaze has been in the market for about five years now and while the car did receive a facelift in mid-2016, it's now time that Honda finally brings in the new-gen model. We told you a lot about the new Honda Amaze from the unveiling event at the Auto Expo 2018, and here's all that we know about the new-gen Amaze.

This is the second-generation model of the Honda Amaze subcompact sedan and it is among the three new cars that Honda India plans to launch in the upcoming financial year.

The new Honda Amaze is based on an all-new advanced platform, unlike the outgoing model, which is based on the Brio hatchback's platform.

The new Honda Amaze, shown at the Auto Expo is also being developed at Honda's R&D base in Thailand but has also seen more inputs from the Honda India engineering team. Honda's Tapukara plant in Rajasthan will be the global supply base for the engines for the new Honda Amaze.

Visually, the new Honda Amaze gets an all-new bold design and shows no reminiscence of the current-generation Honda Amaze. The car talks inspiration by the new-generation Honda Accord that was launched in India last year, and a fair bit from the WR-V.

The new-gen Honda Amaze gets an all-new face with a protruding nose, a fat chrome grille, flanked by a pair of new wraparound headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. The new Amaze also gets a new muscular front bumper with a wide air dam with honeycomb-patterned grille, and a large plastic cladded enclosure for the new round fog lamps.

The new Amaze gets extensively improved proportions, which are seen from the profile view. Unlike the previous model, this one doesn't look like a hatchback with a boot and more like a proper sedan. And the prominent yet simple character lines further enhances its looks along with the new 15-inch alloys.

The rear section looks all-new with a new boot-lid, and new LED tail lamps, which essentially look like an inverted form of the WR-V's tail lamps, and a beefy rear bumper with subtle lines.

The cabin looks a bit similar to the outgoing model with some minor changes. Honda has, however, loaded the new car with features, including a new 7-inch Digipad touchscreen infotainment system. This system offers smartphone integration, navigation and a host of other features.

Honda only showcased the petrol version of the car which comes with the same 1.2-litre engine remains unchanged and comes with 87 bhp under its hood. However, the 1.5-litre diesel engine will also be on offer when the car is officially launched. However, we expect the engine to get some fine-tuning to offer better fuel efficiency and maybe even a little bit more power.

The transmission options will include the 5-speed manual gearbox that will come as standard for both petrol and diesel models. The Amaze right now also gets an option CVT automatic transmission for the petrol model, and we can hope for a diesel automatic as well with the new Amaze.
