About Kawasaki Ninja 300

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 was earlier discontinued in India, due to emission compliance. Now, Kawasaki India has rolled out the BS-VI variant of the same model, in 2021, and they are currently accepting bookings via their online website and dealerships across the country. It is also the most affordable sports bike, with the tag of a Kawasaki Ninja and the ex-showroom price is INR 318,000.

There are three colour options available: Ebony, Lime Green, and Candy Lime Green. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 regains its old bodywork, with 37 mm telescopic forks in the front, and mono-shock at the rear. It retains the usual seating capacity of 2, with an engine capacity of 296 cc. The liquid-cooled twin-engine develops maximum power of 38.40 bhp at 11000 rpm and provides a great mileage of up to 26 kmpl.

This bike is undoubtedly a great choice for long rides due to the comfort it provides, and it is also a decent option for off-roading, given the sporty nature of the bike. It also sports the world’s smallest ABS unit, and the ergonomic design with Kawasaki’s heat management technology makes it a must for all sports bikes’ fanatics.

Kawasaki Ninja 300 Expert Review

How is the design of the Kawasaki Ninja 300?

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 retains its design from the Ninja series, but there are certain improvements over the previous models. It has sporty glass in the front and a highly minimalistic tail design. It also has an aggressive set of dual multi-reflector headlamps convenient for rides at night.

Did you know that the floating-style windscreen is like a signature statement for the Ninja? It also has a sporty digital panel on the bike, which makes the look quite premium and fashionable. The aluminium footpegs are also a great addition for sport riding in comparison to the rubber counterpart.

How does the Kawasaki Ninja 300 ride?

With a 296 cc liquid-cooled twin-engine, which is capable of generating 39 bhp and 27 Nm of torque, the bike is highly calm and docile while riding and accelerating at lower rpm. The top speed is at around 5000 rpm and the utility of the powerband kicks in above 8000 rpm.

It may not be the fastest accelerating bike in the similar segment, however, the inclusion of ABS and the 6-speed gearbox provides the gear shifts with precision timing. The new MRF Nylogrip Zapper tires provide great stability while riding, and are an amazing choice for riders.

How comfortable is the Kawasaki Ninja 300?

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is a competent choice for sportbike lovers, who love the comfort and are looking to buy a bike in this segment. The rear footpegs are placed in such a fashion that one does not have to worry about their posture while riding.

Also, the synchronous positioning of the handlebar promotes the aerodynamic positioning of the arms, and the elbows can be completely stress-free. The spacious fuel tank and its positioning also make the rider feel comfortable and ride with no stress to the knees. This is one of the reasons why riders love it for longer rides.

How is the tech in Kawasaki Ninja 300?

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 has all the features, which makes it a great entry-level sports bike. The liquid-cooled, 4-stroke parallel-twin engine, with a capacity of 17 litres fuel tank is a great addition to the bike. It also has a 6-speed transmission, along with digital ignition, which saves a lot of time.

The anti-lock braking system, along with the addition of a 37 mm telescopic fork suspension in the front, and gas-charged shock with a 5-way adjustable rear suspension adds value to the features of the bike. The heat management system, fine atomizing injectors, and dual throttle valves also deserve special mention.

How is the mileage of the Kawasaki Ninja 300?

Although the brochures speak of mileage up to 26 kmpl, however, the sporty nature of the bike and the engine may fail to deliver that under certain conditions. According to survey reports of users, it was seen that on average, the mileage in the city may range from 15-20 kmpl. However, under the highway conditions, it significantly increases to 20-25 kmpl, on average.

This is one of the reasons why people end up not buying a Kawasaki Ninja. Still, for the category of sport and performance bikes, it does justice to the entire segment with its capabilities.

How is the performance of Kawasaki Ninja 300?

There has been positive feedback for the Kawasaki Ninja 300 in the Indian market, in comparison to other countries. Kawasaki should thank this overwhelming response due to the pricing, and the introduction of certain key features, which has kept this bike going for sports bikes’ fanatics.

The local sourcing of the panels, wiring, wheels, tires, and brakes has resulted in cost and price reduction, and the price gap between the successive models of the same segment has also kept the sales up. This is the reason why a lot of people end up buying a Ninja 300, as the beginners’ intro to performance bikes.

Is the Kawasaki Ninja 300 a good value?

The BS-VI variant of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 sports standard dual-channel ABS, along with a slipper clutch. This is a great feature to add, after reducing the cost by INR 62000. Also, it is the most affordable sports bike in this segment, and that is the reason why one can go for this bike.

The other impressive features and the brand name of Kawasaki is also a strong promoter of the same. The great consumer feedback and recommendation is also another reason why it is worth investing a little above INR 3 lakhs on this particular variant of the bike.

Final Verdict on Kawasaki Ninja 300

Are you looking for an entry into the performance and sports bikes segment? Then, you should necessarily go ahead with booking a Kawasaki Ninja 300 for yourself. All the features, technical specifications, and the affordable nature of the bike, with compliance to the emission standards, point towards it being a great buy.

However, if you want to explore options, you can also check out the other variants of the Kawasaki Ninja family. Still, the pricing on those variants may be quite steep. It is an all-rounder bike, and it is not meant to let you down, for sure!

Pros & Cons of Ninja 300

pros

Pros

  • The slipper clutch and ABS are a great addition to the Kawasaki Ninja 300, and this makes the bike a favourable choice over others in the market, in the same segment.

  • The all-new BS-VI variant of Kawasaki Ninja 300 is priced a bit above INR 300,000 and it makes it the best buy in this segment. Other models of Kawasaki Ninja have a price tag upward of INR 700,000.

  • The power-packed features, along with an extended wheelbase and higher ground clearance is the epitome of greater stability while riding.

cons

Cons

  • The mileage of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 has always made a questionable impression. With the city averages between 15-20 kmpl and highway averages up to 25 kmpl, people prefer buying high-performance bikes at cheaper prices.

  • The discontinuation of Kawasaki and Bajaj has resulted in the brand reducing visibility at prominent locations across the country. This has affected post-sales and selling promotion.

  • The digital console looks basic and primitive, in comparison to other variants of Kawasaki Ninja, and the other brands in the similar segment have more premium looks and features on the panel.

People also ask For

  • How much does a Kawasaki Ninja 300 cost?

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 is undoubtedly an amazing entry-level sports bike from the Ninja family. If you are a sports bike fanatic, this is the perfect bike for long rides, performance riding, etc. Apart from these attributes, the comfort of the bike along with the design makes it a viable option for an entry-level sports bike.

The pricing and the BS-VI emission standard engine also make it a must-buy in this price segment. Also, if you are planning to have an ABS-enabled bike, this is the right choice to make.

  • Is the Kawasaki Ninja 300 a good bike?

Yes, it is absolutely worth it, if you are buying a Kawasaki Ninja 300. However, be sure to buy the BS-VI variant, as many dealerships still have the BS-IV variant at their stores. Why should you buy the BS-VI variant? It comes with the revolutionary ABS system and the skipper clutch.

Apart from that, the emission standards and their compliance is something that you need for your bike moving forward. The Kawasaki Ninja 300 also sports an amazing suspension system, and the price is reasonable for the power-packed nature of features and specifications.

  • Is the Kawasaki Ninja 300 better than the KTM RC 390?

Both of these bikes fall under the category of power and sports bikes, and both of them are good for the entry segment. However, the KTM RC 390 is priced better in comparison to the Kawasaki Ninja 300. Although the fuel tank capacity of Ninja 300 is twice that of KTM RC 390, the other features of the bike, like the power and torque are slightly better than that of the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

However, if you are planning to buy a bike for longer rides, convenience, and performance riding, Kawasaki Ninja 300 edges past its counterpart due to the huge base of customers.

  • Which model of Kawasaki Ninja 300 is best?

There are not many variants of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 available in India. After the BS-VI Emission standards compliance, it has only one variant with the ABS feature available. However, there are three colour variants available: Ebony, Lime Green, and Candy Lime Green.

Ninja 300 is the perfect designed motorcycle. There are lot of reasons to buy this one. The ABS is missing. This is a only drawback of this model. Looks are pretty impressive and performance is great with its 296cc engine. But it has not good resell value.
