The MG Hector is the best-selling model in Morris Garages India's vehicle line-up. The Hector was the first model to be launched by the Chinese-owned British carmaker in India, and it continues to be one of the more popular offerings in the sub ₹ 20 lakh SUV segment. MG Motor India offers the SUV in both two-row (5-seater) and three-row (6- and 7-seater) body styles, as Hector and Hector Plus, respectively. If you are planning to buy the MG Hector right now, here are some pros and cons that you should know about.
Pros
1. The MG Hector is one of the more premium-looking SUVs you can buy in this price segment. The SUV comes with a large, imposing footprint that is accentuated by the heavy chrome accents.
2. The Hector is loaded with features like - a large chrome grille, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillamps and dual-tone colour option. The cabin gets a panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, wireless charger and front ventilated seats.

3. The Hector is also a fully connected vehicle and comes with MG's i-Smart system that understands about 35-odd Hinglish voice commands such as 'Hello MG, AC chalao', 'Hello MG, sunroof kholo', 'Hello MG, Radio Bajao' and so on.
4. Together, the Hector and the Hector Plus offer multiple cabin layout options - 5-seater, 6-seater and 7-seater.

5. The MG Hector also comes with an array of drivetrain choices. The petrol option includes a 1.5-litre engine that gets the option for a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT and a CVT automatic. The 2.0-litre diesel engine comes with a 6-speed manual as standard.
Cons
1. MG is still a relatively new brand in India and thus has a limited sales and aftersales network. And for some that can be an issue.
2. The third row in the Hector Plus doesn't offer enough space and is only suitable for children and not adults.

The Hector does not come with a diesel automatic combination, that's a big miss
3. The Hectors large footprint also leads to a noticeable amount of body rolls, and you don't really get used to it.
