The total NVH has reduced much. The bike has become much quieter now on the run and it’s thanks to the air-cooler. There is a linear power delivery and there is a complete change in the midrange. It runs much faster and smoother on the overtakes and the mountain trails. The top-end performance too has changed a lot.

The suspensions are made for the long-distance and are of superior quality. That makes the ride comfortable and hence, the bike is also known as a tourer. The seats, though, should have been more cushioned and a bit bigger for better seating comfort. The road-ride experience has been quite impressive. There are new foams fitted in the seats to reduce the fatigue experienced on long rides. You enjoy the seats a lot within the city as well. The ergonomics of the bike has been given a fear deal of attention. The handlebar now has a new mounting angle that has made a lot of positive difference in the city rides.

There is an improvement in the cruising speeds on the highways. Now the bike is comfortable even at 100 kmph. The bike is still stable at high speeds.

You will enjoy the XPulse the best in off-road conditions. The long-travel suspension and a remarkable increase in ground clearance have made all the difference. The engine has an advanced fuel system the Programmed Fuel Injection.

How is the performance of Hero Xpulse 200?

So, it’s quite good for both the driver and the pillion. The acceleration of the bike makes it ideal for overtaking and negotiating the bends and taking on the corners.

Is the Hero Xpulse 200 good value?

The bike certainly is not good value for money due to its high price and high fuel consumption. However, it depends on the buyer’s choice and budget. If you are looking for an adventure bike and a tourer at a time, with a power full 200CC engine and if you want to travel across on and off roads, it’s a good bike for you. it's relatively light, un-intimidating and promises proper adventure capability. The showroom guy was insisting on getting the 200T but got the 200Fi. Since this is my first ever bike I can't comment like a professional but yeah everything is very comfortable and the suspension is soo smooth. I have sat as a Pelion too, and in FI variant there is already a heat protection on the silencer so no problem. I love this bike and it's much better than the 200T.

All You Need to Know About the XPulse 200

Hero XPulse 200 is with the legacy of its previous model and there is a focus on its off-road performance. It has a much higher ground clearance and the tyres are for off-road conditions.

It made its Indian debut at Auto Expo 2018. Taking the legacy of the Impulse forward, the XPulse comes with a sharper focus on off-road performance, thanks to its ground clearance, off-road tyres, wind protection and accessible seat height.

Hero XPulse 200 gets the same engine as the Hero Xtreme 200R. This 199.6cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, the air-cooled engine generates 18.4PS of power and 17.1Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed transmission. But considering the XPulse 200’s off-road characteristics, you do get a different final drive ratio compared to the XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200R.

The fuel tank has pronounced knee recesses and gets a flush-fitting fuel tank cap. The bike has an upright, commanding stance and a one-piece seat that extends onto the fuel tank – an expected element on an enduro motorcycle. The engine on the vehicle shown at the Expo was shrouded with ample protection – a compact, functional-looking crash guard and a drilled underbelly bash plate. It’s interesting to note that Hero claims the XPulse has more ground clearance and suspension travel than the Impulse, which means it will probably be more capable off-road.

The XPulse features a raised front fender and a round full-LED headlight that’s complemented by a windscreen. It gets an enduro-bike-styled handlebar and hand guards as well. Also on offer is a digital instrument console that gets a gear position indicator, distance-to-empty and more. The XPulse also has an under-seat USB charger and Bluetooth connectivity, which has enabled features like turn-by-turn navigation assistance on the digital display.

The single-downtube chassis featured on the XPulse makes use of a box-section swingarm and a monoshock rear suspension, as well as a smaller disc brake at the rear. This chassis is a new development and Hero says it has proved itself at the 2017 Raid de Himalaya rally where it was tested.

The XPulse gets a 21-inch front wheel, a single-channel ABS and a telescopic fork with 190mm of travel. The rear, meanwhile, gets an 18-inch wheel and a monoshock with 170mm of wheel travel. These are the wheel sizes seen on proper off-road machines and are larger than the Impulse’s 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel sizes. Ground clearance is an impressive 220mm and a skid-plate will boost its ability to take a beating. At 825mm, the seat height is decent for the purpose, but it may feel a bit high for shorter riders. Hero says that the seat is quite narrow, which should make it easier to get both feet flat on the ground.

The XPulse is powered by an 18.4hp, 200cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor that it shares with the Xtreme 200R. However, on the XPulse, it could be in a different state of tune and with different sprockets. The bike will be available in either a fuel-injected or carburetted version, with the latter being the more affordable option. With a 14-litre fuel tank, the XPulse should offer a decent range.

The Hero XPulse 200 is the most affordable adventure motorcycle in its segment. Its closest competition, the Royal Enfield Himalayan, is Rs 74,000 more expensive, while the BMW G 310 GS costs twice as much as the XPulse. That said, the BMW isn’t exactly as capable an off-roader as the XPulse.
