How is the design of Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS?

AS mentioned earlier, the design of the new Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS is quite unconventional and bright for the brand’s image. For almost a decade, there was a very significant design language to the pulsar line-up, each one looking like its predecessor with a few minor changes. However, this time Bajaj Auto took the game to a whole new level. Taking from a Naked-sports bike overview, Bajaj has replaced their staple bulging oil tank, which goes with the overall look of the bike. However, the re-design took a hit on its fuel tank capacity and brought it down to 12.1 Litres. 

That said, the plastic panels accompanying it sure do help accentuate the look of this bike. It has sharp features, with a smaller headlamp, giving it a much more aggressive stance when viewed from the front. On the side of the bike, you will not see much but heavy straight lines, which are flush with the body giving it a compact yet muscular feel. The rear of the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS has not changed, apart from a newer LED taillight, wider tyres and the missing exhaust. The exhaust is neatly tucked under the bike, which not only helps them look but aids weight distribution as well, giving it a more balanced feel. 

How does the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS Ride? 

The ride quality of the bike is something that Bajaj has taken extra care of since it was always resonant with the Pulsar line-up. With the seat height being a very comfortable 805 mm, the ride quality of this bike is not very difficult. The posture of the rider is maintained, and there is enough room to move as well. The motorcycle is undoubtedly easy to handle and flick and quick stable on the ground. This is quite an improvement from past pulsars because although they were heavy enough to be stable, they never really were fun around corners. With sharp brakes and a twin-spar pressed steel frame, this is surely a very well-built bike to ride. It gets a 280 mm petal disc brake in the front and a 230 mm disc brake on the rear wheel, both of which have floating callipers. Even though the bike has a slight issue of a rear-wheel lock when it comes to braking hard, it sure did keep a straight line for the most part, which is a massive improvement from its prior models. 

While riding the bike, it is very evident how much stiffer the suspension is than the other Pulsars. With twin fork suspension in the front and a mono-shock for the back, the bike provides nice ride quality both on rugged roads as well as city roads. Another improvement on the 200 NS is the knee recess provided with it. While taking corners, the motorcycle holds its ground and provides decent support to lean into the turn. The overall ride quality of the new Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS has been quite improved if compared to other models in this segment or even its predecessor.                           

How comfortable is Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS?

Bajaj is known to be a very consumer-centric brand and comes out with some of the most sold mid-range bikes. One of the most important things to consider in this segment is comfort since the target audience of bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS is rather young and will be using the bikes for everyday purposes. Bajaj has kept this in mind and ensured to add all the necessary features in the bike that make it comfortable for both the rider and the pillion. 

It has a wide, long seat that is quite well-cushioned and can fit three passengers, including the driver, easily. However, most countries have rules against this, so make sure you have checked with the legalities. Apart from that, you will get wider tyres that grip the road better and offer better slanting positions while making a turn. As mentioned before, this bike can do a high speed of 140 Kmph, which is quite impressive. However, you can feel minor vibrations at such high speeds. This is true even for lower speeds which go to say that the all-new Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS is not the best companion for cruise rides or very long rides. However, the bike handle and seat have been positioned in such a way that it offers the best seating positing for the rider, avoiding back injuries or discomfort. All in all, this is quite a well-built bike for city drives, and every commute, however, can be quite tiresome for long distances. 

How’s the tech?

In terms of technology, Bajaj has always been known to be the innovator of the industry. They have tried to introduce certain new features with every Pulsar model they have launched over the past couple of years, and somehow it has always worked. This time as well, they have left no stone unturned to make the new Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS feel more with the times and brand new. Although it takes a lot of inspiration from the KTM Duke 200, you cannot take away any credit from the engineers over at Bajaj for introducing some amazing and mass-favoring solutions. 

It comes with an all-new digital instrument cluster that not only looks futuristic but also helps the rider understand and know all of the necessary information about the bike. The console is quite easy to read, even in bright sunlight and has certain necessary controls that one might need to set to make the features more accessible and personable. With bold and bright characters for speed, the instrument cluster also has certain other important information, for instance, a side-stand notify, battery check and oil information. The handle controls are quite basic and nothing new. However, since the BS-VI model has daylight requirements, the light switches have been replaced. 

How’s the mileage of Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS?

There is no doubt that the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS has quite a powerful engine; however, as it is very synonymous with Bajaj, it is quite efficient as well. Even though less than its predecessors, this bike can provide up to 35 Kmpl in perfect road conditions and comes with a 12.1-litre oil tank. Added to that is a reserve fuel capacity of 2 litres. 

How is the performance of Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS?

The Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS has quite a powerful engine. The engine can produce a peak torque of 18.3 Nm @ 8000 rpm and a maximum power of 23.17 bhp @ 9500 rpm. These numbers are quite impressive for a bike of this segment. Along with that, the engine is quite efficient and provides great mileage for city rides. One thing to notice is the low and mid-range performance of this bike is not too good. 

Is the Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS good value?

With the basic information mentioned here, it can be safely said that the BajajPulsar 200 NS is quite a safe buy. If you are looking to upgrade from an older version of Pulsar or any other similar bike to a more powerful, well-thought and capable bike, this should be the choice. However, if you have already purchased the previous 200 NS, the upgrade can be skipped. There is not much improvement in terms of engine capacity or overall performance of the bike. The few changes are mostly with its physical appearance and ride quality. To put it in simple words, this bike is a good value if your previous purchase is dated.
