Bajaj 2019 Dominar 400 Expert Review

How is the design of 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400?

When you want to choose a good bike, design and build quality is an important criteria. The design of the new Bajaj 2019 Dominar 400 is quite unconventional and bright for the brand’s image. For almost a decade, there was a very significant design language to the pulsar line-up, each one looking like its predecessor with a few minor changes.

However, this time Bajaj Auto took the game to a whole new level. Bajaj has replaced the regular bulging fuel tank, which really goes well with the overall look of the bike. However, the re-design took a hit on its fuel tank capacity and brought it down to 13 Litres.

The plastic panels of the bike actually accentuate the look of this bike. It has sharp features, with a smaller headlamp, giving it an aggressive stance when viewed from the front. On the side of the bike, you don’t see heavy straight lines, which are flush with the body giving it a compact yet muscular feel. The rear of the bike has not really changed, apart from a newer LED taillight, wider tyres and the missing exhaust. The exhaust is neatly tucked under the bike, which not only helps them look but aids weight distribution as well, giving it a more balanced feel.

How comfortable is the Bajaj 2019 Dominar 400?

When this is all about a best bike, considering the comfort of a bike is very much important. Even if you wish to buy a bike while going on a long ride, you can go for Bajaj 2019 Dominar 400. This bike is extremely comfortable to ride on a bumpy road Thanks to a plush suspension.

Bajaj is already known to be a very consumer-centric brand and comes out with some of the most sold mid-range bikes. One of the most important things to consider in this segment is comfort since the target audience of bikes like the Bajaj 2019 Dominar 400 are rather young and will be using the bikes for everyday purposes. Bajaj has kept this in mind and ensured to add all the necessary features in the bike that make it comfortable for both the rider and the pillion.

The bike contains a wide, long seat that is quite well-cushioned and can fit two ridersApart from that, you will get wider tyres that grip the road better and offer better cornering abilities. As mentioned before, this bike can touch a top speed of 156 kmph, which is quite impressive.

How's the tech?

However, you can feel minor vibrations at such high speeds. This is true even for lower speeds which go to say that the all-new Bajaj is not the best companion for cruise rides or very long rides. However, the bike handle and seat have been positioned in such a way that it offers the best seating positing for the rider, avoiding back injuries or discomfort. All in all, this is quite a well-built bike for city drives, and every commute, however, can be quite tiresome for long distances.

All You Need to Know About the 2019 Dominar 400

The Bajaj Dominar 400 was initially launched with much fanfare two years back. Bajaj had high expectations from the flagship product and Rajiv Bajaj had even set a target of 10,000 units per month.

In a bid to rekindle the Dominar brand in the Indian two-wheeler space, Bajaj will be launching the new 2019 Dominar 400 in our two-wheeler space soon. With the launch of this bike expected to be around the corner, we list down five interesting details about the upcoming motorcycle.

There is no doubt that Bajaj has been one of the top brands in the automobile industry. With bikes catering to the mid-range section, all the way up to sports bikes. However, their commercial success was more evident with the introduction of the bike line-up.

For 2019, the Dominar's fully digital instrument console now gets a few additional readouts such as average speed, average fuel consumption, side stand indicator and even fuel range. Besides, the secondary display on top of the fuel tank now shows the proper gear position indicator, time and trip meter.

However, people will be able to only comment on its practicality once they ride the bike. Also new are the open-cartridge USD forks at the front along with a reworked monoshock unit. Additionally, it also gets mounts for bungee straps to suit your touring needs.

While powering the bike is still the same 373cc single-cylinder engine as before, Bajaj has already tuned this for more grunt and refinement. The bike now comes with a new DOHC (Dual OverHead Camshaft) layout for better efficiency at higher revs. This uptuned engine now makes 39.40 bhp of power at 8800 rpm, a bump up of 5 bhp. The torque, however, remains unchanged at 35 Nm, but now arrives at 6500 rpm instead of the earlier 6000 rpm.

When this is about colour of the bike, this is really important to know that the bike’s different colours and features. There is not much that distinguishes the older model from the new one. While the basic design language remains the same, this specific model now gets blacked-out bits on the wheels, redesigned mirror stalks and swanky mirrors too. You will also get a new double-barrel exhaust, finished in matte black. Also new here is the metallic green colour.

It also introduced the new triple-spark design, in addition to the four-valve SOHC, to the market. Even though this particular bike does not come with the fuel-injected engine like its predecessor, this will surely not leave any stone unturned in living up to the name. Starting from a gas-charged mono-shock to petal disc brakes in the front and disc brake in the back, the bike was quite an impressive purchase at that point in time.
