About Bajaj Avenger Street 160

On May 10, 2019, Bajaj Auto introduced the new Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS in India. The new Avenger Street 160 is the Pune-based two-wheeler manufacturer's most unique entry-level cruiser motorbike. The bike replaces the Bajaj Avenger Street 180, which was previously available in India. With a street control handlebar, low-slung seat, and alloy wheels, the new Bajaj Avenger Street 160 combines roadster and cruiser design languages. A single-channel Anti-Locking Braking System (ABS) is also standard on the motorbike.

The new Bajaj Avenger Street 160 has a roadster headlight with LED daytime running lights, a blackened engine, and a relaxed riding position, similar to the larger Avenger Street models (180 and 220). New artwork and a more prominent logo have been added, and black alloy wheels and a rubberized rear grip rail.

The 160.4 cc single-cylinder engine of the 2019 Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS produces 14.7 bhp and 13.5 Nm of max torque. The output is superior to that of the Avenger 150 and identical to that of the Avenger 180. The power-to-weight ratio has increased substantially from the previous Avenger 150's power output of 98 bhp to 103.3 bhp.

A 5-speed manual gearbox is included with the power plant. The bike has an upright posture with a low slung seat and a unique extended footrest position for optimal riding comfort, while the 177 mm ground clearance makes city and highway riding more pleasant. Telescopic forks in the front and dual shock absorbers in the back handle the suspension chores. The braking performance is provided by a 220 mm single disc up front with single-channel ABS, while the rear wheel gets a drum brake.

Bajaj Avenger Street 160 Expert Review

How is the design of the Bajaj Avenger Street 160?

The Avenger Street 160 is a well-built motorcycle with a low-slung cruiser appearance. The seat height is low for a relaxed riding stance, the wheelbase is longer, and the footpegs are positioned front. A circular headlamp, a simple digital Plus analogue speedometer, and a streamlined fuel tank are all standard features. The seat is made up of a single component that acts as a step. The construction quality and fit-and-finish of the various pieces are satisfactory. Alloy wheels contribute to the whole package's sportiness and street-oriented design language.

How does the Bajaj Avenger Street 160 Ride?

The Avenger Street is a cruiser-style motorbike that puts the rider in an upright riding position with a straight handlebar that is simple to reach. The foot pegs are placed forward for a more relaxed riding experience. For city and short highway journeys, the seat is well-cushioned, and the suspension is capable of handling a variety of road conditions.

The quality of the ride is also unchanged. The seat is comfortable, and the suspension is a little squishy. The rear tends to bottom out when driving over a deep pothole. Because of the feet-forward seating position, you'll receive a shock up your spine when it does that. Speaking of ergonomics, I'm not a fan of the bike's - your feet are front as on a cruiser, but the handlebars are more in line with a typical street motorbike, and this does tax your core over extended periods.

How comfortable is Bajaj Avenger Street 160?

Apart from its appearance, the Avenger's sitting ergonomics are one of the reasons people buy it. Many commuters and tourers feel that the low seat, forward-set foot pegs, and wide, easy-to-reach handlebar will provide comfortable sitting. It does so, for most of the part.

Show its well-maintained roads, and you'll be able to spend a lot of time in the saddle without any problems. Even in stop-and-go traffic, the foot pegs aren't far enough forward to cause a thigh muscle to tear from frequent peg-on-peg-off use. Furthermore, because the pegs are in front, there is nothing to foul with the legs while leg-paddling in traffic.

How's the tech?

Following are the tech features offered by the Bajaj Avenger Street 160:

  • Speedometer - Digital
  • Gear Indicator
  • Fuel Warning Indicator
  • Fuel Gauge
  • Pillion Seat
  • Pillion Grabrail
  • Engine Kill Switch
  • Clock
  • Tripmeter Type - Digital
  • Tripmeter Count
  • Pass Light

How's the mileage of the Bajaj Avenger Street 160?

Bajaj chose the 160cc engine over the 180cc engine for various reasons, one of which was to improve fuel efficiency. It also returned a bit over 45kmpl on our city run. These statistics aren't ideal, especially for a 160cc motorbike, but they're a step forward.

How's the performance of Bajaj Avenger Street 160?

The Avenger 160's engine is, of course, the most innovative feature. On the Pulsar NS160, it's effectively the same device. It features the same bore and stroke, as well as a virtually identical power output. It produces about 15 bhp and a little over 13 Nm, which is nearly similar to the 180cc Avenger's output. Back to the NS160 engine, the main difference between the two is that the Avenger has a two-valve head, whilst the NS has a four-valve authority.

The Avenger 160's engine feels and sounds like the rest of its siblings on the road. As a result, it's rather loud. The vibrations begin to come in as you reach the mid-range. Furthermore, the vibrations increase when the engine is revved higher. Yes, it's a linear proportional relationship. So much so that a dot of light in the rear view mirror transforms into a massive circle as it approaches its redline, as if someone were light painting!

Is Bajaj Avenger Street 160 a good value?

The Avenger 160 Street ABS is now officially the most inexpensive cruiser on the market. The Bajaj Avenger 160 Street ABS is India's most inexpensive cruiser, priced at Rs 1.01 (ex-showroom Delhi). It is Rs 6,000 less expensive than the previous Avenger 180, but it has additional functionality. In fact, the Suzuki Intruder 150, the next best option, costs Rs 12,400 more!

Aside from being a good deal, the Avenger 160 accomplishes everything you'd expect from an entry-level city cruiser. Yes, it lacks the lungs for lengthy highway trips, but there's always the option of upgrading to the 220cc model. The Avenger 160 Street is a good choice for people looking for a city commuter that can also be used on weekends.

All You Need to Know About the Avenger Street 160

Following consumer input, Bajaj Auto introduced the Avenger Street 150, which was eventually replaced with the new Avenger Street 160. The cruiser's design is identical to that of the now-discontinued Avenger Street 150 model. Here is all you need to know about this bike.

The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 is powered by a 160 cc BS6 engine that produces 14.79 bhp and 13.7 Nm of torque. Bajaj Avenger Street 160 has anti-lock brakes on both the front disc and rear drum brakes. This Avenger Street 160 motorcycle weighs 156 kg and has a 13-litre fuel tank.

It has the same relaxed stance as the previous model but with a more aggressive flat handlebar. Black powder-coated components, such as the handlebar, exhaust, grab-rail, and indicators, follow the blacked-out motif. The black polish on the alloy wheels completes the appearance.

The engine, which is now BS6 compliant, is the most significant improvement. The single-cylinder, fuel-injected 160.4 cc engine generates 14.8bhp and 13.4Nm and is connected to a five-speed transmission.

The Avenger Street 160 has telescopic forks in the front and double shock absorbers in the back when it comes to cycling parts. The front brakeis a 230 mm single disc with single-channel ABS, while the rear brake is 130 mm drum unit. The Avenger Street 160 is available in two colours: black or red.

The Avenger is getting on in years. And it shows in the motorcycle's technology or lack thereof. Of course, it receives single-channel ABS because it's required by law. Aside from that, the motorbike isn't exactly cutting edge. The cycle elements, such as the chassis and suspension, are nearly identical to what they were in 2015. Maybe even before that. As I have stated, keeping track of all of the Avengers is difficult. The engine is still air-cooled, a carburettor still delivers the gasoline, and the instrumentation is as simple as it gets, with only one trip metre as a value add.

The new Avenger is similar to the previous Avenger regarding bodywork, fit and finish, paint quality, and overall appearance and feel. So, overall, the paint quality is superb, the switchgear function is snappy, the fit is nearly perfect, and the chrome - what little there is - does not appear to be cheap. The silver finish on the exhaust shields and headlight surround, on the other hand, looks a little tacky. Even the matte finish, especially on the plastic parts, might have appeared more upscale. Some of the welds are also unsatisfactory to us. These have a unique finish that stands out like a sore thumb.
